Hilo Hattie Shadows
February 27, 2016 - In October 2015, Hilo Hattie closed its iconic Nimitz Highway location after more than 35 years of selling aloha shirts and tiki junk to unsuspecting tourists. The vacant building, with about a hundred thousand square feet of floor space, now sits vacant. In preparation for visits by potential tenants, the landlords tore away the vines that had clung to the outside walls. Only shadows remain.
